Having Fun Under "the
Son!"
|
Once per week,
kids gather together in their elementary school for one hour
of fun, games, songs, prizes, and most importantly...Bible
lessons, memory verses, prayer and moral values. There's
never a dull moment |
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works
and glorify your Father in heaven."...Matthew 5:16
Thank God for "Sonshine
Club"
We have only good reports of our experience at Horace Mann School.
What a joy it is for us to minister to these precious children! We
have found the school personnel very helpful and pleased to have the
Sonshine Club operating in their school.
We have used a variety of teaching methods such as costumes, props,
human video, participation, music, rotation of teachers. We even
received permission and formed a "Christmas Choir". We met an extra
afternoon during October, November and December. The children took
part in our church Christmas program. Every child of the Sonshine
Club that had signed on for the choir, came and participated! They
did an amazing job! Parents and other family members attended.
there were songs, narration, and the nativity story in drama by the
children.
We are inviting the children to attend a couple of "Super
Saturday's" at our church this summer, which will be a Vacation
Bible School format. We are in the planning and preparation stages
for that right now.
We do not know how to gauge the impact that the
Sonshine Club hour weekly program has had on the children that have
attended. We realize that Bible lessons about JESUS have been
given, songs of praise to GOD have been taught, Bible verses (such
as John 3:16 and Matthew 16:16) have been memorized, games to
encourage team play and fellowship have been enjoyed, and love has
been shown. Good seed has been sown, and we pray that it will bring
forth bountiful fruit in these children's lives.
We look forward to continuing to "Make JESUS Famous!" and
ministering for Him through the Sonshine Club.
Thankfully,
