How are the children?

The Masai Warriors in Africa greet each other with this question. They understand that the true measure of the wellbeing of a people is how the children and the other most vulnerable in the community are doing. So I ask you. How are the children?

Your support for Urban Light Ministries is a partnership with us to someday answer: ALL THE CHILDREN ARE WELL. We believe for that to happen, fathers in greater numbers must become responsible, committed and involved parents. Furthermore, we know that children and their parents need to hear and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ for their eternal salvation.

Why Now?

  The time is now!

We have a rare opportunity to broaden the work of Urban Light beyond the local community. Children in the surrounding area in need of the ministries of Urban Light, including The Sonshine Clubs and the Fatherhood Resource Center.                                     

For example, in partnership with four Enon pastors, we have established a Sonshine Club in the public elementary school building in Enon, Ohio. Now, children in that community are receiving spiritual enrichment after school once per week. We don’t know how long we’ll have this extraordinary ministerial opportunity.  

Your donation is needed right now so we can continue this expansion to serve more children.

Plus, over the past five months, we have begun working with partners to implement programs to help fathers become more responsible parents. Now, dads in Springfield, Dayton, Troy, Urbana and Xenia are receiving this valuable training. We have the opportunity to implement additional programs.

How it takes forgiveness of self and others to recondition self. Helps me understand the mother, the woman and how they work as a person. Has taught me how to take and react to certain situations with my children. Taught me some of the different outcomes, of positive and negative ways that your child could suffer from when a situation isn’t handled properly.
