Why Is Father Support So Important?

RESEARCH INDICATES THAT…

*A father’s involvement is important! Good fathering during infancy and early childhood contributes to the development of emotional security, curiosity, and math and verbal skills.

*Higher levels of involvement by fathers in activities with their children are associated with fewer behavior problems and a higher level of school performance among children and adolescents.

*Both boys and girls demonstrate reduced risk of  drug  and  alcohol  use  if  their  fathers are involved in their lives.

*Every father, including unemployed, divorced, or imprisoned fathers, or those who feel unappreciated by the wider culture, has something to give his child. He can give his heart and love, even from a distance.
